Where the idea began

People replace repairable technology every day. Often, a computer still has useful years left. A part fails, a quote arrives, and the economics stop making sense to its owner.
The Keep Tech Alive concept grew out of real-world repair-industry experience with that decision. It led to a practical question: what if a modest incentive could make repair worthwhile?
What if the owner, a skilled provider, and a repair-focused organization could each play a part in keeping that computer useful for longer?
Founding 100 is the proposed first test. The intention is to build a mission-led organization with independent oversight, clear standards, and outcomes that can be examined.

A transparent start
The concept grew out of repair-industry experience. The founder’s repair business, PC Repair Center, is a proposed, nonexclusive provider; it has not been approved through this website. Before any related provider participates, the proposed safeguards include conflict disclosures, independent review, comparison of pricing and alternatives, and board oversight. These arrangements remain subject to professional review and formal approval.
